HI SEC International’s Access Image Recognition Provides Advanced Security Option

Herlev, Denmark, September 9, 2005 – HI SEC International now offers an improved Access Image Recognition (AIR) module that provides more enhanced security options. Used with the Access Intrusion Management System (AIMS), the AIR provides a higher level of security than a card, card with pin or biometric reader. When a card is swiped, a nearby camera records an image of the person requesting access. A photo of the cardholder, as well as a live image from the camera flashes on screen for security staff to review. If the images match, the security staff manually grants access.

This prevents people from using incorrect cards, allowing multiple people to enter, and makes the security staff accountable for access control.

Setup multiple AIRs to enable a flexible operation from the client’s surveillance area. Choose what type of reader an AIR module installed on any AIMS client should control. Define which reader will send the AIR request to which AIMS client.

Users can program the AIR for automatic operation, which allows a PC to grant or deny access. Use this feature when a security operator cannot grant access by clicking a button each time a cardholder uses their card. Rather, the AIR module operator will grant access after an adjustable time giving the guard time to deny automatic access if he/she chooses not to allow a cardholder access.

The AIR window can remain open on the AIMS client’s screen when there are no AIR requests from the reader. This speeds up the process during busy times when many requests are being made.

AIR supports third party video switchers. A three-part video switcher controls camera inputs and supplies the needed camera picture to the AIR module.
