General Purpose Interface

HI SEC International’s product range consists of an Access Control System based upon the THOR Access Control Terminal, the THOR range of Intruder Alarm Systems and the THOR Video Verification System.

All the above units are equipped with their own intelligence, enabling local decision making independent from any controller and PC Management System.

All the systems can be interfaced working on a common RS 485 Bus (THOR Bus). The maximum number of devices on the THOR Bus is 32 units, limited to a maximum cable distance between the first and last device on the bus of 1,200 meters.

The effect of these limitations is overcome by the use of one or more General Purpose Interface modules.

Each connected GPI Module will occupy an address on the THOR Bus.
