System Overview

The ThorGuard Alarm System is among the most advanced Alarm Systems available on the market.

The System is built on a strong platform with plenty of processing and memory capacity and with several interfacing options. It is capable of handling the most demanding applications.

All or part of the system can be managed automatically by the flexible Auto-Set/Unset time zones, taking holiday period's and other relevant factors into consideration.

With its built-in detector bus it allows connection of up to 120 Inputs and Outputs in the standard configuration. With a few plugable add-on boards, the capacity can be expanded up to a total of 480 Inputs and Outputs.

The ThorGuard System has been designed in close cooperation with specialists in the banking industry and as a result, features many bank-functions such as time lock control.

Programming Facilities

Of all the unique features of the ThorGuard Alarm System, the most significant is the unique distributed programming facility.

Apart from the pre-programmed features, the ThorGuard System is designed so new functionality can be downloaded when required.

New features and functions are easily built in with the easy-touse graphic orientated PC-based Configuration Tool.

Once defined, the new features are simply downloaded into the ThorGuard Alarm System along with Input and Output definitions, User Profiles, Area, Zone and Detector names.

With the Configuration Tool, the service providers, installers and integrators working with the ThorGuard System are able to satisfy their most rigorous security demands.

The philosophy behind ThorGuard's Configuration Tool, with the enhanced programming facilities, is to allow the service providers to respond to their customers needs more rapidly than with traditional systems.

Once a new functionality has been created and tested, it is saved so that it can be copied and used in other installations.

Capacity

The ThorGuard 480 Inputs and Outputs can be divided into 64 Zones and 250 Areas.

Working as a stand-alone system, it accepts up to 250 Users, divided into 32 user profiles. The user profile defines the un-setting and programming rights according to predefined week-programmes.

Integrated with our Access Control System, the ThorGuard will allow up to 65.500 identifiable users.programmes.

Hardware

The ThorGuard Alarm System is available in three versions, differentiating in cabinet size and type of power supply.

The key element in the ThorGuard System is the CPU Platform. The platform has a built-in I/O Controller for connection of op to 4 Detector Busses, each capable of handling 30 Input and Output addresses.

By adding additional I/O Controllers the capacity can be expanded up to 480 Inputs and Outputs for detectors and indicators.

Via an add-on TCP/IP Interface the ThorGuard can be connected with other devices via a LAN or WAN Ethernet, enabling remote control and with upload and download as well as test facilities.

ThorGuard is equipped with dual Flash Memory enabling local and remote download of new firmware while the system is still running.
